About the Trust
The Lady Hind Trust was established in 1951 by Dame Lilian Francis Hind in her Will. Lady Hind was the wife of the well-known Nottingham solicitor Sir Jesse William Hind (Wells and Hind), who was knighted in 1934 for Public Service in Nottinghamshire. Their only son Lieutenant Monty Hind died in action in France in 1916 whilst serving with the Sherwood Foresters. Lady Hind's nephew Charles Littlewood Hill, who lived in Norfolk also set up a similar Charitable Trust in 1978, hence the Trustees bias towards making grants which benefit Nottinghamshire and Norfolk.
The Trust is a general charitable trust allowing the trustees to apply the income for such charitable purpose or purposes or in the furtherance of any such charitable objective or objects as they shall in their absolute discretion from time to time think fit.
The Trust prepares annual accounts copies of which can be found on the Charity Commission Website.
The Charles Littlewood Hill Trust is a connected charity (registered no. 286350) because it has common trustees to The Lady Hind Trust.
